What if I change my birth plan?

You can change your plan, you can contact me here for the changes and check out new plans and services here.

Can we just talk first before booking anything?

Absolutely, you can either contact me here or click the schedule button below.

What exactly does a doula do?

A doula provides emotional, physical, and educational support before, during, and after birth. I don’t perform medical tasks or replace your provider, instead, I help you feel emotionally safe, informed, and supported throughout the process. My role is to walk alongside you as an advocate, guide, and calming presence.

What’s the difference between a doula and a midwife?

A midwife is a medical provider trained to monitor your physical health and attend your birth. A doula focuses on non-clinical support, offering continuous care, advocacy, comfort measures, and emotional regulation. We work alongside your provider as part of your support team.

Is trauma-informed care only for people with past trauma?

Not at all. Trauma-informed care is about creating a safe, respectful, and empowering environment for everyone. You don’t need to have a trauma history to benefit from care that’s mindful of boundaries, nervous system needs, and emotional well-being. My goal is always to meet you where you are, without judgment or assumptions.

When should I hire a doula?

As early as you feel ready. Most clients reach out between 20–30 weeks, but I sometimes book out months in advance. The earlier we begin working together, the more time we have to build trust, prepare your birth preferences, and create a strong foundation of support. If you are ready, you can explore our packages here.

What kinds of births do you support?

Hospital births, home births, birth center births, unmedicated, medicated, VBAC, induction, or scheduled cesarean. I support all birth types and trust your right to choose what’s best for your body and your family. My role is to help you feel confident, respected, and informed, no matter how your birth unfolds. You can checkout my services by clicking here.

What happens if my birth goes differently than expected?

That’s exactly why I’m here. Birth can be unpredictable, but you’ll never be alone in navigating those shifts. I’ll help you adjust your plan, advocate for your needs, and stay emotionally grounded if things change. My support doesn’t stop when plans shift, it adapts with you.

Do you support solo birthing parents?

Yes absolutely. I support all family structures, including single parents, LGBTQ+ families, and those without a co-parent or partner. If you’re navigating this journey solo, my role is to ensure you feel seen, held, and fully supported every step of the way. Explore my offers here.

Can you help my partner prepare too?

Absolutely. I work with partners to help them feel confident, included, and clear on how to support you during labor and postpartum. They don’t have to be experts, they just need to feel prepared and present, and I help guide that process. You can visit my services here.

Do you offer virtual support?

Yes. While I primarily provide in-person care, I offer virtual prenatal and postpartum sessions for families outside my travel area or those seeking remote support. If in-person labor attendance isn’t possible due to distance or birth center policy, I can provide virtual guidance and coaching.

How do postpartum visits work?

Postpartum visits are designed around what you need. They might include emotional check-ins, feeding support, newborn care guidance, or simply a calm presence while you rest and process. These visits typically happen within the first 2–6 weeks, but we can tailor timing to what feels most supportive.

What’s the difference between your packages?

Each package is designed around how much support you want across pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.

Sprout offers foundational guidance and care.

Bloom includes deeper preparation and extended support.

Full Blossom is high-touch, personalized, and includes ongoing emotional care + postpartum tools.

If you're unsure which fits your needs, I recommend booking a consult so we can talk it through together.

May M.

I’m so grateful to have had my doula by my side during labor and delivery. She was incredibly supportive and never left my sight the entire time. Her constant reassurance and calming presence made such a difference for me. Knowing that she was there through every contraction and every moment helped me feel safe and empowered.

Working with Ivy Haven Birthwork was one of the best decisions I made during my pregnancy. From the very beginning, I felt so seen, heard, and genuinely supported. This wasn’t just about information or checklists, it was about having someone walk beside me with calm, grounded presence every step of the way.
